Half Moon Party on Koh Phangan

Besides the big "FullMoon Party", a few other parties started to be organized on a regular base. The most famous of them is the Halfmoon Party organized twize every month by the Harmony Team, which provides an earblasting sound system, light equipment and DJ's for the party.

Differrent to the FullMoon Party, is the entry price, at the moment outragious 500 Baht, because you are forced to buy a CD (included in the ticket), it is also much smaller than the Full Moon Party, attracting only in peak times up to 3000 visitors.

Mainly local thai DJs, low skilled, using CD decks rather than vinyl. Sometimes guest DJs will play unannounced, but you won't see any big name stars.

The event has been held at several venues including on the beach at Ban Tai on the southern coast, and in the surrounding jungle. It is currently held in a venue designed specifically for the event in Ban Tai on the road to Thong Nai Pan. After-parties can usually be found at Ban Sabaii as well as in Thong Sala.
